Some tropical hardwood species, professionally known as »irritant timbers«, present a definite health hazard to those handling or machining them. Both, the harmful effects and the corresponding symptoms produced by the »irritant timbers« should be known, and adequate protection to allpersonnel involved in direct conversion provided.
