In order to determine the optimal result for making rear joints on chairs using screws, investigations and mechanical calculations for the most critical type of joints made by screws have been conducted. Testing was carried out in accordance with Yugoslav standard regulations (JUS).

The mechanical calculations focused on tensile, compressive, and bending strains. Considering both static and dynamic strains, the screw method and arrangement in the joint were analyzed. The joint with the two wrought screws showed the best results.
