Some experiences obtained in testing glued-laminated structural members

This article presents the experiences obtained in testing the quality of laminated structural members in the Wood Institute, Zagreb. The practice evidenced the necessity of regular production control and testing of structural members by the competent institutions. Better introduction of individual production elements and better quality control of timber and glues applied can influence the factors producing effects on the quality of laminated structural members. The method of test of laminated structural members is based on various standards requirements and it is a product of longtime cooperation of a number of institutions. When issuing the quality certification for structural members, a care should be taken about the results of testing timber and glues applied, in order to be sure in the quality of tested structural member and the certification, as well.
