Abstract:
Preparation of wood surface prior to spreading of paints and laquers comprises usual treatments of fine smoothing and cleaning with sand items. With the aim to rationalize surface treatment by simplifying, operation or dropping sanding process, experiments on specially arranged planing machines and tools produced by Messrs. Weinig, West Germany, have been carried out with a purpose to examine possibility of fine planing as a substitution for sanding treatment.
