Determination of a rate of heat release from wood products ano structural material under exposure to fire

Major number of tests for classification of materials with regard to behavior on fire and flame spread risks have been carried out by testing reaction of materials to fire. When speaking about the reaction of material to fire, it is understood the ignitability of material and its ability to burn. When examining such an event closely, the following should be taken into consideration: (1) ignitablllty, (2) flame spread, (3) heat release. This report presents results in tables and graphs on the tests of a rate of heat release at burning in a calorimeter by watching the conditions of the following materials and structures: panels made from sawn Douglas-fir boards, medium density fiberboards, waterproof and fireproof plywood, wall structures with gypsum board, high density fiberboard and particle boards.
