Production of fire retardant particleboards

The article gives a brief review on the Doctoral Dissertation which the author defended in December 1983. The objective of his Dissertation was „Research of possibilities to manufacture fire retardant particleboards which according to their behavior to fire can be used in building construction and ship-building". By addition of various fire-resistant chemicals after the type and amount on different pIaces of production, various effects on particleboard properties have been obtained. Physical and mechanical properties of manufactured particleboards have been reduced by addition of chemicals. Fire retardant properties of most manufactured particleboards have been increased depending on a type of added agents and the place where these have been adder. Results have been given comparatively in several tables - physical and mechanical properties and fire retardant properties.
