It is very important to determine and to know the time required for performance on a log and saw, from the point of planning and managing the sawmilling production. Authors, in the study, by combining the methods of conventional time measuring and statistical method of determining the existence of reciprocal relation of time of performance, on the one hand, and dimensions of logs and technological process of log conversion on the other hand proved by investigation the assumed hypothesis: -
1) LOG DIAMETER - d, independently varibale dimension, and NUMBER OF CUTS PER LOG -S, dependently variable dimension, are in correlative relation of graded form, i. e.
S = 0,023 x d^1,49725
and
2) NUMBER OF CUTS - S and LOG VOLUME - V, independenrtly variable dimensions, and TIME OF LOG MAKING - ti, dependenly variable dimension, are in correlative relation of: graded form. i. e. :
ti = S^1,0193127 x V^0,0050174 x 53,086714 (sec)
By proving these two hypotheses a possibility of anticipating the time of log conversion - ti (standard time) on a log band saw has been created in conversion of fir/spruce through two reciprocally conditioned steps.
