Title:

Research work of standard times of operations on a log band sawing machine

Research subject and fields:
Abstract:

Complexity of log sawing processes on a log band sawing machine requires necessary analysis of performance and establishment of performance time of each operation separately. Not minimizing the importance of each individual operation, still a special importance should be given to the log sawing operation, since this is a technological operation. The paper studies a hypothetic case in which the wood structure has no effect on a feed speed of the truck carrying a log during sawing. Researches showed that the height of saw kerf, independent variable, and the feed speed of the truck with a log during sawing, dependent variable, have not been in a functional, but only in a stochastic dependence. It means that the feed speed of the truck with a log during sawing is not a deterministic variable, which by definition should be. The researches also showed that neither the saw kerf surface, independent variable and the time of sawing log operation, dependent variable, are not in a functional dependence, they are in stochastic dependence. It means that the time of sawing log operation is not a deterministic variable, which by definition should be. The reason for such deviations from theoretic hypotheses is absence of previously established optimal parameters of mode of processing and impossibility of continued following of effects of wood structure on resistance of wood and in this connection on the feed speed of the truck with a log during sawing and duration of operation.
