Abstract:
The paper deals with the possibility of applying front milling in processing of plain surfaces. The front milling process has been studied on a Rotoles 130 2V milling machine. During the tests cutting force, feed speed and workpiece height before and after milling were measured. Consequently the influence of the feed -speed on the cutting force and the specific cutting energy was determined. The relationship between the workpiece height deviation and the feed speed, and the surface roughness and the feed speed have also been determined.
