Title:

Circular saw mechanics, Part II: Oak sawing - influence of saw blade position

Research subject and fields:
Abstract:

In the first part of this paper publishing is announced of the results of experimental cutting of oak workpieces in laboratory conditions. The measurements were carried out during the controlled process of sawing with a circular saw, at different positions of circular saw table and in the range of low feed speed. During sawing, the cutting power was measured. Cutting forces in horizontal and vertical plane were also measured by use of two-axis dynamometer. On the basis of the measuring results, the correlations between some kinematics and geometry values were calculated. Thus, important and very interesting correlations were obtained for the process of circular saw cutting.
