Quality factors of furniture

Abstract:

Furniture quality has been determined by its properties. Theoretically, there is an extensive number of properties determining the quality, while it is actually determined by a small number of basic properties. Quality has been determined on the basis of obtained property levels, thus representing the quality factors. Basic factors for certain conditions of usage should be known. Quality tests are carried out by determining property levels in new furniture and changes of such properties during use. To make the test process shorter, conditions of usage are simulated. Now, mostly mechanical factors have been examined, and in the future, more attention should be paid to the quality factors linked to the interaction between man and furniture.
