Abstract:

This article presents the results of research on conversion of thin beech logs in diameters from 10 to 25 cms and 1,00 m length. Every class of logs been classified in two subgroups A and B according to method of sawing on primary machine (fig. 3). Quantitative utilization of the group A amounted approximately a 29% for diameters 10-11 cms and 53% for diameters 24-25 cms. Qualitative structure of the obtained assortments: squaire edged lumber length 1,00 rn and 0,50- 0,95 m, flooring strips, broomsticks, squares and packing slats shown in Tables 3 and 4. It is satisfactory, particularly for diameters over 16-17 cms. This paper gives technological aspect of conversion of thin and, short beech round logs.
