Abstract:

Organization of forestry and wood industry appears to be of topical interest for solving problems in the sequence of processing operations. Essential problems of a complete process of production are: economic conversion of round timber, supply of primary and final capacities with the raw materials and utilisation of the capacities installed. By optimum orientation and conversion of round tlmber it would be possible to obtain a higher degree of utilisation of the capacities installed. To achieve this, it would be necessary to support correct application of the JUS (Yugoslav Standard), to prohibit exportation of logs and sale to private persons. There will be in the SR of Croatia for a round of years a surplus of sawn goods and therefore it is necessary to find an optimal solutlon for supplying the final stage of processing with the sawn timber and veneer and to sell the balance. Development of the final stage of processing should be based on finalization of solid timber. Technological development of final processing should be conceived on technologically specialized lines with close cooperation and division of labour.
