Title:

Chemical and anatomical properties and possibility of firwood sawmill residue utilization for high-yield chemimechanical pulps production

Research subject and fields:
Abstract:

Chemical and anatomical properties of firwood sawmill residue indicate that it is a potential raw material for pulp and paper industries, being a long-fibered sofwood with high cellulose content. Chemimechanical pulps CMP/CTMP produced by rafiner-mechanical pulping of chemically modified chips perform better mechanical properties than their mechanical counterparts, RMP/TMP, the technological process itself exposing less load on environment than chemical pulping processes. Because of these qualities CMP/CTMP ,chemimechanical pulping is visualized as pulping of XXI century.
