Title:
Reduction of extreme stresses on band-saw blades through regulation of the cross-alignment angle of the pulleys
Research subject and fields:
Abstract:
Extreme stresses upon the gullets of band-saw blade teeth can at times exceed the dynamic strength of the saw blade material and cause fatigue cracks. This results in increased maintenance and purchasing cost for tools in saw mills. The proper adjustment of the cross-alignment angle of a band-saw can in certain situations significantly reduce the level of extreme stresses.
