Contributions to the knowledge of the Adriatic sea wood marine borers

In this article, the species of wood marine borers from all over the world especially from the Mediterranean and the Adriatic sea, are mentioned. Much information about marine borers has been collected from relevant world literature. The author's intention was to determine all species of wood marine borers which probably live in the Adriatic sea. In regard to the accelerated trend of seascape construction (marinas) on the whole of the Adriatic coast and the fact that marine wood borers sometimes appear epidemically, some kinds of preserving methods and preservatives are mentioned.
